Lake Victoria Hotel: became operational in 1948 during the colonial time under Governor Cohen who lived in the current State House and named the hotel, Lake Victoria Hotel, after the lake which was also named after the Queen of England, Queen Victoria who resided in this hotel during a visit to Uganda in 1958. A tropical oasis is close to the Entebbe International Airport only 4 km and this Hotel has kept the spirit of the former British colonial mansions.
