Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kigali City Tour – Transfer to Volcanoes Gorilla Park

After your breakfast, our guide will pick you from your hotel and lead you on an exciting tour around the capital city of Rwanda – Kigali. You will visit a number of interesting places including the museum and the Gisozi Genocide Memorial in addition to a number of handicrafts shops. In the afternoon right after you lunch you will transfer southwestwards to Volcanoes National Park best known as the home of mountain gorillas in Rwanda. You will have you dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking-Cross into Uganda

Very early today morning you will have a quick cup of breakfast and then head to the park headquarter where you will be briefed by the park warden before you start on this adventurous trekking in the forest as you look for mountain gorilla. This activity takes between 2-7 hours depending on where the gorillas are. When you find the gorillas you will be allowed one hour in their midst during which you will record videos and even take photographs, however, please remember to keep your camera’s flash light off while at it. You will cross into neighboring Uganda in the afternoon using the Chanika boarder. You will have you dinner and the overnight at your lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park 

Following breakfast very early in the morning, the guide will transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park best known as the home of the tree climbing lions. You will drive through Ruhija, through the southern part of the park known as Ishasha sector where you will see these unique lions to your accommodation where you will enjoy your lunch before setting out on a thrilling two (2) hours boat cruise of the wildlife swarmed Kazinga channel. There you will see a large number of birds, in addition to crocodiles, hippos and elephants. Later in the evening you will head back to your accommodation where you will enjoy your dinner and spend the night.

Day 4: Game drives – Transfer to Kibale National Park

Today you will have an early morning game drive as you explore the numerous tracks within the park. During this you will see various animals like lions, elephants, bush bucks, various antelopes and water hogs. You will return to your accommodation for breakfast and then checkout. The driver will then transfer you to Kibale Forest National Park home of 13 different primate species among which are the chimpanzees.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking – Bigodi Nature Walk

You will have an early breakfast and then set out in the park headquarters to be briefed about this exciting adventurous activity. Lead by your ranger guides you will start the search for the chimpanzees which interestingly share 98% of the DNA with man. You will be allowed an hour in their midst to observe, take photos and record videos of them. You will have lunch and afterwards head out to the Bigodi wetland sanctuary where you will take a nature walk to see different wildlife such as antelopes and birds.

Day 6: Transfer to Kampala City

Immediately after breakfast the safari guide will drive you to Kampala City the capital of Uganda. Along this scenic drive across the beautiful green countryside of Uganda, you will make a number of stopovers for sightseeing as well as photography. Once in Kampala you will dine and spend the night at your hotel

 Day 7: City Tour and Departure

This is the final day of our safari. Basing on the time of your departure-flight, the guide will lead you on a city tour across the capital; Kampala to visit several places of interest including the Uganda Martyrs Shrine located at Namugongo, a place where the Uganda martyrs were burnt to death just because they refused to denounce their Christianity, to the Bahai temple in Africa, Kasubi tombs, the craft market, National museum, the fruit and vegetable Markets, Gadafhi Mosque, as well as the large Rubaga and Namirembe cathedrals. Later on, you will transfer be transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

SAFARI TRANSPORT

Standard 4X4 Safari Vans/Land cruisers

Our standard mode of transport is by road and we use 4×4 Safari van and Land cruisers with open roof tops customized for game viewing and photography. Each Safari van/Land cruiser comes with a professionally trained driver/guide with fuel for the whole safari. Each client is entitled to a window seat and can take up to 8-10 people. We also have very comfortable super customs which can carry up 6 people with their luggage also have small vehicles like Alphads, Harrier and much more that can carry 4-5 people.

PERMITS

In Uganda Gorilla trekking is done throughout the year and a Gorilla permit goes for $700 per person while in Rwanda it goes for $1500 per person per day.

  • Gorilla trekking permits.
  • Proof of Yellow fever vaccination.
  • Good physical, fit health and mental condition.
  • Uganda Visa which can be got on arrival at the Airport.
