Gorilla trekking-Batwa Cultural Experience
Early breakfast in the morning, after drive to the park headquarters for briefing by the Park rangers about the do’s and don’ts in the park. However, you will be divided into groups of 8 individuals. Afterwards, continue and start off the trekking, one of the most endangered animal species as guided by the rangers. You will spend about 1 hour with them, taking photos, watching them feed, play around as well as doing their day-to-day activities.
But depending on the location and the movement of the gorillas, this activity may take about 2-8 hours. As a matter of fact, expect to walk longer distances with walking sticks due to the muddy and steep landscape. Later, return to the lodge for lunch and a power nap. In the evening you will visit the Batwa community (native culture in the forest). Here, you will get exposed to their culture & norms; dance, lifestyle, storytelling, etc which is very amazing and unique. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
