This 4 Days Uganda Wildlife & Primate Safari : takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park. As a matter of fact, this is the only park in the Uganda that hosts the tree-climbing lions. Additionally, it is a home to highest population of buffaloes. Besides, it has got over 80 mammal species, over 600 bird species and different primate species. These include; chimpanzees, baboons, various monkeys species, etc.
You will then continue to Kibale Forest National Park, home to the most diverse number of primates in East Africa. These include; chimpanzees, Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Red-Colobus, Potos, Red-tailed monkeys, etc. You will thereafter take a nature walk in Bigodi swamp for bird watching.

Approximate Travel time 7 hours.
You will be driven to Queen Elizabeth National Park after your breakfast. Upon arrival, check in your lodge, have lunch then head for a 2-hour boat cruise at Kazinga Channel. It is also a natural water channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. While on the boat cruise, you will spot large schools of hippos, crocodiles, etc and different water bird species. Afterwards, you will head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Morning Game Drive - Transfer to Kibale National Park
Approximate Travel Time: 3 Hours
Right after an early morning breakfast, you will go for a game drive. Here, will you search out for different animals especially the early risers. Animals to encounter include; bush bucks, cape buffaloes, lions, warthogs, leopards, elephants, etc.
Later, have lunch and then head to Kibale Forest National Park, “The Primate Capital of the World”. In fact, the park contains one of the loveliest and most varied tracts of tropical forest in Uganda. Furthermore, this park is famously known for chimpanzee tracking. In addition, the park is home to a total of 70 mammal species, most famously 13 species of primates.

Chimpanzee tracking - Nature walk
Have your early morning breakfast and then head to the park headquarters for briefing by the park warden. After briefing, the team will set out on the amazing expedition to track chimpanzees. While in the forest, you will encounter different primates. These include; Blue monkeys, Grey cheeked Mangabeys, Red colobus, Red-tailed monkeys, L’hoests monkeys, etc.
Later after lunch, head out for a nature walk to explore the Bigodi swamp an eco-tourism site. Here, you will spot a number of rare fauna and flora species. These include; the largest antelope species in the world; the sitatunga. In addition, you’ll observe various bird species including: the Narina Trogon, Great blue Turacco, Rwenzori Turaco, etc.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe
After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and start your journey back to Kampala. You will have lunch along the way before finally arriving in Kampala. Upon arrival, you will be driven direct to your hotel or Airport to catch up with your flight back home.

Chimpanzee Habituation
Generally, the full day Chimpanzee Habituation Experience (CHEX) works with a chimp community which is undergoing habituation. Early visitors can watch chimps leaving their overnight nests between 6:00-6:30am. Watch them feeding, copulating, hunting, breastfeeding, resting, patrolling, etc.
Birding
Bird watching tours start at 7am at Kanyanchu and you are advised to book in advance. Rare species include; Papyrus Gonolek, White-winged Warbler, White-collared Olive back, etc. Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary located just outside the park is basically a home to over 138 bird species. These may be seen during guided walks along the boardwalk trail and viewing platforms. These include; White-spotted Flufftail, Yellow-spotted Barbet, Hairy-breasted Barbet, Yellow-billed Barbet. Western Nicator, Brown-backed Scrub-robin, Black-and-white Shrike-flycatcher. Brown-throated Wattle-eye, Superb Sunbird, Black Bishop, etc.
Hiking/Nature Walks
When chimpanzees and other forest residents rest up at dusk, a nighttime shift of rarely seen creatures become active. Night walks through the darkened forest, powerful torches are basically used to seek nocturnal creatures. These include; Potos, bush baby, nightjar, tree hyrax as well civet and serval cats. Night walks leave the camp at 7.30pm and last between one and a half- two hours.
Cultural Encounters
The daily life of the Batooro can be discovered during the village walks. The tour stops by the village’s primary school, church, and traditional healer. While here, you will learn about the role of women in the village and traditional ceremonies. Furthermore, the history of Bigodi is told through the story of the “Village of Two Tribes”, describing when the indigenous Batooro were joined by migrating Bakiga from southwestern Uganda in the 1950. In fact, income from this activity is invested in education, health, sanitation and improving the livelihood of local residents. It is also used to help raise awareness of the value of biodiversity through music, dance, and drama at local schools. As the sun sets, you will be taken to check into your accommodation for dinner and the overnight rest.
Lion Tracking
Lion tracking generally involves learning much more about the habits of the king of the wild. More so, this is one of the most interesting experimental tourism activities in Uganda. The cost of a lion permit authorized by Uganda wildlife authority is US$200 for international tourists while UGX 200,000 for the members of the East African Community.
