This 8 Days Uganda Explore Safari: takes you to Uganda’s National parks for an experience in the wilderness. You will first head to Murchison Falls National Park also referred to as Kaberaga National Park.  In fact, this is Uganda’s largest protected area and one of the most exciting for wildlife viewing and a boat cruise. Murchison Falls is the most electrifying sight of its type in East Africa, with the fast-flowing but wide Nile. Here, its transformed into an explosive froth of thunderous white water as it funnels through a narrow gorge into the devil's cauldron. The safari will also take you to Kibale Forest National Park, with the highest concentration of primates. While here, you will do your chimpanzee tracking as well as a nature walk. Thereafter, continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for the tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. Conclude with Lake Mburo National Park the smallest of Uganda’s savannah parks and home to over 350 bird species as well as different mammal species.

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will start your journey to Murchison Falls National Park with a stopover in Masindi for lunch. Upon arrival in the park, you will head straight for a walk to the top of the falls that makes Murchison Falls National Park so famous. Actually, this is where the Nile makes its way through a narrow gorge. As a result, making a thunderous sound pouring downstream into the devil’s cauldron.  Being so close to the falls and seeing the splendor from the top is such a wonderful experience. Later, check in your lodge for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive-Boat cruise

After your morning breakfast, you will set off for an early morning game drive across the savannah, along Lake Albert Delta. What you will see, sense and feel around cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world. In fact, this is Murchison falls with its birds, Lions, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes and much more. Afterwards,  head direct to the dock and enjoy your lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat cruise. This will basically take around 2-3 hours and while here, you will be able to view different animals like the crocodiles, hippos, elephants. Also watch out for different bird species like kingfishers, herons, shoebill stork and much more. The boat ride will take you to the bottom of the falls and when you reach here you will be able to see clearly the mighty waterfalls.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Having your morning breakfast, check out of the lodge and start off your journey to Kibale Forest National Park. As you drive out of the park, you will come across some animals like elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeests, etc as they move out to look for food. Enjoy your lunch on the way as you head to Kibale Forest National Park. Upon arrival, you will check in the lodge for dinner and overnight and prepare for the next day’s chimpanzee tracking.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking

 

After enjoying an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters where you will be briefed by your ranger of the day. This is basically all about what you expect while with chimpanzees and later set off into the forest to search for them.  Upon locating them, you will be given one hour in their presence. You will watch them feed, play and here you are also allowed to take some photos. Later, head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Amabeere ga nyina Mwiru-Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

 

After breakfast, you will visit the ‘Amabeere ga Nyina Mwiru cultural site, a home to a very rich cultural history. These rocks generally form scenic caves with streams of water above them causing refreshing waterfalls for those who visit. Here, you will be welcomed by the sweltering sound of the waterfalls, the glorious distressed waterfalls hissing out the Amabere caves.  Later, embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, with a stopover for lunch on the way.

Day 6: Game game-Boat cruise

Have breakfast early in the morning and later go for a game drive in the Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. While here, you will have a chance of seeing lions, elephants, buffaloes, and abundance of different bird species. After lunch, you will go for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel. This 2 hour boat ride is of great highlights whereby you can view lakes Edward and George. hippos, crocodiles, elephants and warthogs along the shores of the channel.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park-Game drive

 

You will have breakfast and later set off to Lake Mburo National Park via Mbarara town. Arrive in the early afternoon and take some rest before proceeding out for the evening game viewing. During the game drive, expect to see animals like elands, antelopes, zebras, topi, impalas, Uganda kob, etc. Later, relax at your lodge where you will spend the night.

Day 8: Nature walk-Transfer back to Kampala

 

Enjoy your early breakfast and proceed for the Mburo morning nature walk in the presence of an armed ranger. You will take the trail to the top of the hills and see the Lake Mburo. From this vantage point, you will also have a great view of 9 of the twelve lakes surrounding Lake Mburo National Park. Thereafter, embark on your journey to catch up with your flight or to your hotel.
