This 8 Days Uganda Explore Safari: takes you to Uganda’s National parks which are; Murchison Falls National Park also referred to as Kaberaga National Park, Uganda’s largest protected area and one of the most exciting for wildlife viewing and a boat cruise. Murchison Falls is the most electrifying sight of its type in East Africa, with the fast-flowing but wide Nile being transformed into an explosive froth of thunderous white water as it funnels through a narrow gorge into the devil’s cauldron. The safari will also take you to Kibale Forest National Park, with the highest concentration of primates and here you will do your chimpanzee tracking. The safari will continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park famous for the tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector and also offers activities like game drives, bird watching and a boat cruise on the Kazinga and then will conclude with Lake Mburo National Park the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks and is home to over 350 bird species as well as different mammal species.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will start on journey to Murchison Falls National Park and your first stopover will be in Masindi for lunch then later proceed with your journey. Upon reaching the park, you will walk to the top of the falls that makes Murchison Falls National Park so famous, this is where the Nile makes its way through a narrow gorge making a thunderous sound pouring downstream into the devil’s cauldron.  Being so close to the falls and seeing the splendor from the top is such a wonderful experience. Later you will check in your lodge for your overnight stay.

Day 2: Game drive – Boat cruise

After an early morning breakfast, with your packed lunch, you will set off for an early morning game drive across the savannah, along Lake Albert Delta. And what you will see, sense and feel around cannot be replicated anywhere else in the world, this is Murchison falls with its birds, Lions, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, warthogs, giraffes and much more. After the game drive, you will head direct to the dock, enjoy your lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat cruise. This will take around 2-3 hours and while on the cruise, you will be able to view different animals like the crocodiles, hippos, elephants, different bird species like kingfishers, herons, shoebill stork and much more. The boat ride will take you to the base/bottom of the falls and when you reach here you will be able to see clearly the mighty waterfalls.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After your morning breakfast, you check out of the lodge and start on your journey to Kibale Forest National Park. As you drive out of the park, you will come across some animals like elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeests, water bucks, oribis, warthogs and hyenas as they move out to look for food. You will have your lunch on the way as you head to Kibale Forest National Park. Reaching the park, you will check in the lodge for dinner and overnight and prepare for the next day’s chimpanzee tracking.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking

After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters where you will be briefed by your ranger of the day about the dos and don’ts while with chimpanzees and later set off into the forest to look for these wonderful apes.  Upon locating them, you will be given one hour in their presence as you watch them feed, play and here you are also allowed to take some photos. later, head back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Amabeere ga nyina Mwiru-Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you visit theAmabeere ga Nyina Mwiru cultural site, a home to a very rich cultural history attached to these rocks which form scenic caves with streams of water above them causing refreshing waterfalls for those who visit. You will be welcomed by the sweltering sound of the waterfalls, the glorious distressed waterfalls hissing out the Amabere caves.  Later you will embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park, having your lunch on the way.

Day 6: Game game – Boat cruise

You will have breakfast early in the morning and later go for a game drive in the Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you will have a chance of seeing lions, elephants, buffaloes, and abundance of different bird species. After lunch, you will go for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel. This two hour boat ride is of great highlights where you can view lakes Edward and George, hippos, crocodiles, elephants and warthogs along the shores of the channel.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park – Game drive

You will have breakfast and later set off to Lake Mburo National Park via Mbarara town. You will arrive in the early afternoon and take some rest before proceeding out for the evening game viewing. During the game drive, expect to see elands, antelopes, zebras, topi, impalas, Uganda kob and Cape buffalos among others and later, relax at your lodge where you will spend the night.

Day 8: Nature walk – Transfer back to Kampala

Enjoy your early breakfast and proceed for the Mburo morning nature walk in the presence of an armed ranger, you will take the trail to the top of the hills and see the Lake Mburo and from this vantage point, you will have a great view of 9 of the twelve lakes surrounding Lake Mburo National ParkThereafter, embark on your journey to catch up with your flight/Kampala to your hotel.
