5 Days wildlife & chimp experience : will take you to Murchison Falls National Park located in the northern part of Uganda and one of the most exciting National Park to visit during your Uganda safari. Murchison Falls National Park has several vegetation types ranging from swamps, tropical rainforests of Budongo, Savannah woodland and grassland that are home to a variety of wildlife that inclusive of primates and different bird species. Visitors to Murchison Falls National Park should not miss out on the spectacular game drives and boat cruises to the base of the falls and delta.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Depart Kampala-Travel to Murchison Falls-Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary-Top of the falls

After an early morning breakfast, your guide will be ready to pick and brief you about the safari, later embark on your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. You will have a stopover at the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for on-foot rhino tracking and game viewing, here expect to see the southern white rhinos, water bucks, warthogs, and many more. Thereafter head to Masindi town for lunch, later continue to the park, enjoy your first activity which will be a walk at the top of the falls. You will enjoy the sounds and sights of these mighty falls as they squeeze through a 7m gorge, pouring into the devil’s cauldron and feel free to take photos and videos for remembrance. After you will head to your lodge and check in for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Morning game Drive-Boat Cruise

Early in the morning after breakfast, you will go for a morning game drive (with your packed lunch) through the park tracks as you spot different animals like elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, water bucks, oribis, warthogs, lions and many more heading to their feeding grounds and may as well see the nocturnal species like leopards. Thereafter you will head to the dock, have your lunch as you prepare for an afternoon boat cruise along the Victoria Nile. This boat cruise to the base of the falls is seen as the highlight of all activities at Murchison Falls National Park since many water and land animals can be sighted and different birds species. Later we shall go back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Delta cruise-Evening game drive 

After breakfast, you will head for another boat cruise at the delta area of Murchison Falls National Park. This boat cruise is not popular with tourists visiting Murchison Falls National Park, but offers a chance to see lots of wildlife species that include buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles, hippos and the rare shoebill stock. You will also observe the Nile reducing speed as it deposits waste before entering Lake Albert. Return back to the lodge for lunch and then prepare for your evening game drive to look for animals you could have missed on the first game drive. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking 

After your breakfast, you will be driven to the headquarters at Kaniyo pabidi eco-site in Budongo forest where you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts when tracking the chimpanzees. Budongo forest is the largest natural  rainforest in East Africa and with over 600 chimpanzees. You will hit the forest in search of these great apes and locating one of the families, you will be given 1 hour in their presence as you enjoy their day-to-day activities. The walk will also expose you to other primates, plants and shrubs in this vast forest. After your chimpanzee tracking, you will return to the lodge for overnight.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and start on your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe en-route lunch on the way.

Standard 4X4 Safari Vehicles

Our standard mode of transport is by road and we use 4×4 Safari vehicles. Each Safari vehicle comes with a professionally trained driver/guide with fuel for the whole safari. We also have very comfortable super customs which can carry up to 6 people with their luggage, we also have small vehicles like Alphads, Harrier and much more that can carry 4-5 people.
