This 7 Days Uganda Adventure Safari : will take you through Queen Elizabeth National Park which is a home to various mammals like the tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector and also offers visitors a chance to watch high concentrations of water animals like elephants, hippos, bird watching along a launch cruise on the Kazinga. Thereafter will head to Lake Bunyonyi for a canoe ride and nature walk and conclude with Lake Mburo National Park for the game drive and nature walks. Queen Elizabeth National Park is situated close to mountain Rwenzori, the park’s sites include several beautiful crater lakes winding through the rolling hills, the panoramic display of the Kazinga channel with an awesome view of the hippos, buffaloes, elephants and several bird species lined up at the shores. Lake Bunyonyi also takes its name from the abundant birdlife that call it home.  All the 6 Islands around it have got many bird species that can be enjoyed by many bird watchers that visit the Lake. Over 200 species are found here and some of these include: African Harrier Hawk, Pied kingfisher, the Egrets, Malachite kingfisher among others. Lake Mburo National Park the smallest of Uganda’s savannah national parks and is home to over 350 bird species as well as Zebras, Elands, Impalas, Buffalos, oribi, waterbucks, leopards, hippos, and reedbucks.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up by one of our representatives from Ssemambo Tours & Travel who will brief you about the journey and thereafter you will embark on the 6 hours journey Southwest wards to Queen Elizabeth National ParkAlong the way you will have few stopovers at the Equatorhere you will have refreshments and also take some photographs. Later you will have another stopover in Mbarara town for lunch. Thereafter you will proceed to the Park as you drive through the spectacular landscape characterized with open grasslands, tea plantations, Ankole long horned cattle, the Rift valley Escarpment and various woodlands. You will reach the park in late afternoon and have a game drive as you drive to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 2: Game drive – Boat cruise

You will have breakfast early in the morning and later go for a game drive in the Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you have the chance of seeing lions, elephants, buffaloes, an abundance of different bird species and more. After lunch, you will go for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel. This two hour boat ride is great highlights were you can view hippos, crocodiles, elephants and warthogs along the shores of the channel.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi – Boat ride

You will have your breakfast and later depart for Lake Bunyonyi well known as the second deepest Lake in Africa. The word Bunyonyi means “small birds” in direct translation which means that the lake is a must stopover for committed birders and besides that; its serpentine shape and numerous islands are other highlights one must look out for. After checking in your lodge, you will go for a Boat ride/Canoeing and here you will be able to visit most of the Islands on the Lake. The Islands on the Lake were named according to the different bird species found on the Island and some were named for different reasons for example the Punishment Island which is the smallest and was used by the Bakiga people to drop their girls who got pregnant before marriage and here you will also learn a lot about the people that inhabit the Islands. Bwama Island is good for birders or you could take a nature walk helping you to appreciate a variety of small birds.  Later you will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Relax by Lake Bunyonyi

you will have a free day by Lake Bunyonyi. Here you can rent a canoe to explore the islands, take a swim (the Lake is free from hippos, crocodiles and bilharzia), go for a hike or just relax with a book.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park – Game drive

You will have breakfast and later set off to Lake Mburo National Park via Mbarara town. You will arrive in the early afternoon and take some rest before proceeding out for the evening game viewing. On the game drive, expect to see the gigantic eland antelopes, zebras, topi, impalas, Uganda kob and Cape buffalos among others and later, relax at your lodge where you will spend the night.

Day 6: Nature walk – game drive

Enjoy your early breakfast and proceed for the Mburo morning park (bush) walk in the presence of an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger/guide. On this early morning guided walk; you will have the opportunity to encounter; Zebras, Giraffes and Eland, Topi and other antelope, Cape buffaloes among others. Take the Trail to the top of the hills and see Lake Mburo and beyond and from this vantage point, you will have a great view of 9 of the twelve lakes surrounding Lake Mburo National ParkAfter lunch in the afternoon it is time for your game drive in the park, here you can see impalas and zebras. Get back to the lodge to enjoy your last evening in Uganda’s national parks for this safari.

Day 7: Transfer to Kampala

Your will have a relaxed breakfast and then start the journey to Kampala. You will make a stopover along the way for lunch in Masaka and proceed with your journey. You will arrive in Kampala in the afternoon and you will be dropped at your hotel or Airport depending on your flight arrangements.

Standard 4X4 Safari Vans/Land cruisers

Our standard mode of transport is by road and we use 4×4 Safari van and Land cruisers with open roof tops customized for game viewing and photography.  Each Safari van/Land cruiser comes with a professionally trained driver/guide with fuel for the whole safari. Each client is entitled to a window seat and can take up to 8-10 people. We also have very comfortable super customs which can carry up 6 people with their luggage also have small vehicles like Alphads, Harrier and much more that can carry 4-5 people.
