This 7 Days Gorilla & Chimpanzee Safari : will take you for chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest National park, for games drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park and for Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Kibale Forest National Park is a home to over 70 mammal species, most famously 13 species of primates including the chimpanzee. Queen Elizabeth National Park, situated close to mountain Rwenzori and the park’s sites include several beautiful crater lakes winding through the rolling hills, the panoramic display of the Kazinga channel with an awesome view of the hippos, buffaloes, elephants and several bird species lined up at the shores. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift valley and harbors half of the world’s gorilla population, including several habituated groups, that can be tracked.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – Community walk
After breakfast, you will be picked by one of our representatives who will brief you about this 7 days safari then later start on your journey to Kibale forest national park. The beautiful scenery overseeing the mountain of the moon (Rwenzori), is a good opportunity for a photo break at your convenience. You will arrive late in the afternoon, check in your lodge and later go for a nature walk at Bigodi wetland sanctuary which is an interesting experience coming across primates such as black and white colobus, red tailed monkeys, red colobus monkeys and more and for the birders, expect to see different bird species.

Day 2: Chimpanzees Tracking
After an early morning breakfast, you be driven to the park headquarters and here you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts while tracking the chimpanzees and later set off into the forest for Chimpanzee tracking led by your ranger of the day from Uganda wildlife Authority. Walking through the rain forest is amazing, other primates that can be seen are; red tailed monkeys, Black and white colobus, Grey checked mangabey, though they keep a reasonable distance from the chimpanzee. And upon meeting the chimpanzees, you will be given 1hour in their presence while watching their day-to-day activities and also here you are given an opportunity to take photos and videos. Later you will head back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Game drive
After breakfast, you will start on your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park; another scenic on the foothills of Mountain Rwenzori seeing glaciations on a clear day. Reaching the park, you will check in your lodge, have lunch and later go for an evening game drive for a chance of seeing lions, leopards, Uganda kobs, elephants, buffaloes, and abundance of bird life. Return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 4: Morning game drive-Boat ride
You will have breakfast early in the morning and later go for a game drive in the Kasenyi plains of Queen Elizabeth national park. Here you have the chance of seeing lions, elephants, buffaloes, an abundance of different bird species and more. After lunch, you will go for an afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel. This 2hour boat ride is has great highlights where you can view hippos, crocodiles and other animals like elephants and warthogs along the shores of the channel.

Day 5: Depart Queen Elizabeth National – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
After an early breakfast, you will drive to Ishasha in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park and a drive through this sector might reward you with chances of seeing the famous tree climbing lions. Later you will continue your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park driving through hills and mountains of terraced land for local agriculture. On arrival, you will just check in your lodge, rest and prepare for your gorilla trekking the next day.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
After breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters where you will be briefed about the dos and don’ts while trekking gorillas. You will be divided into groups of 8 people and your ranger of the day will lead you into the forest to do your gorilla trekking. Upon locating the gentle giants, you will be given 1hour in their presence as you watch them feed their young ones, playing about and taking naps. Later, you will return to your lodge and in the evening you may choose to relax at the lodge or visit the Batwa community which will expose you to their culture basing on how they live, dance, and also hearing stories concerning their culture which will leave you amazed. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala/Entebbe
After breakfast, you will start on your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe for your flight back. An amazing scenic drive through the rolling terraced hills of Switzerland of Africa. Lunch on the way and a must stop at the equator for refreshments, equator experiments and buying souvenirs to take back home for remembrance.

Standard 4X4 Safari Vans/Land cruisers
Our standard mode of transport is by road and we use 4×4 Safari van and Land cruisers with open roof tops customized for game viewing and photography. Each Safari van/Land cruiser comes with a professionally trained driver/guide with fuel for the whole safari. Each client is entitled to a window seat and can take up to 8-10 people. We also have very comfortable super customs which can carry up 6 people with their luggage also have small vehicles like Alphads, Harrier and much more that can carry 4-5 people.
